3 - Wine Terms (Not good ones)

1. Bret: sort for Brettanomyces which is a spoilage bacteria that gives the wine a "funk" often described as barnyard, manure, dirty socks, or wet horse to name a few. Common is many French and Italian wines and some people just love these sensations.

2. Hydrogen Sulfide : a substance in wine that causes the wine to smell like rotten eggs or hard cooked eggs. Vigorous swirling will remove these aromas.

3. Ethyl Acetate : an ester that makes the wine smell like nail polish remover. High fermentation temperatures and stressed yeast during fermentation can cause an abundance of this ester.

2 - Quotes from Me & Others:

1. "Don't judge a book by the cover - only judge it once fully read and fully understood." ~ The Zen Winemaker Tweet This

2. "The act of sipping wine is simple - realizing what is happening is enlightenment." ~ The Zen Winemaker Tweet This

1 - Question to ponder:

If you lost everything, what is one thing that you would still be grateful for?

Something to ponder:

If you shared this newsletter with 2 people, who then each share with two people, how many times would this need to be done to reach every human on earth? Answer
